Our Cloud Services unit is focused on designing, building, securing and managing cloud native & hybrid platforms for the KPMG group of member firms, as well as providing cloud advisory and engineering services to external clients.

We are looking for an experienced Snowflake Data Architect to join our Data and Analytics teams, supporting large-scale transformation programs within the banking and financial services sector.

The role focuses on designing and delivering enterprise-grade data platforms and data products, with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance (BCBS 239), data quality, data lineage, and modern cloud architectures.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in Snowflake-based ecosystems with strong domain experience in banking data transformation and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement centralized Snowflake data platforms with standardized data models, domain structures, and reusable data products
  • Architect end‑to‑end data pipelines using modern zoned architectures (Bronze/Silver/Gold, medallion)
  • Drive scalable, high‑performance, and cost‑efficient Snowflake solutions
  • Integrate data quality, metadata, and lineage into platform design
  • Lead reporting transformation initiatives, including legacy migrations and Power BI enablement
  • Manage business use case lifecycle (intake, prioritization, tracking) within transformation programs
  • Own requirements engineering, including acceptance criteria, source system mapping, data dependencies, and BCBS 239 alignment
  • Coordinate delivery: testing, defect management, business acceptance, go‑live readiness, and post‑go‑live support
  • Design and implement data quality frameworks aligned with regulatory reporting (BCBS 239)
  • Define and operationalize DQ rules, controls, KPIs, and monitoring
  • Ensure end‑to‑end data lineage (business & technical, field-level traceability)
  • Standardize and implement reusable data integration services (batch, streaming, API/event-driven)
  • Ensure reliable, auditable pipelines with monitoring, logging, and error handling
  • Support metadata management, lineage integration, and operational handover

What you bring in:

  • Proven experience as a Data Architect in banking / financial services
  • Strong expertise in regulatory data transformation and reporting (BCBS 239)
  • Hands-on experience with Snowflake and cloud data architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Solid background in data modeling (Data Vault, domain-driven models) and enterprise data platforms / data products
  • Experience with data integration (Kafka, APIs, batch) and modern ELT/ETL frameworks (dbt, ADF, Databricks)
  • Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices for data platforms
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, metadata, and lineage tools
  • Experience with financial data models (e.g., FSDM) and end-to-end reporting flows
  • Strong stakeholder management and ability to operate across business and IT
  • Experience delivering in agile environments (MVP-driven, iterative delivery)
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and coordination skills
  • Experience with reporting migrations and enterprise transformation programs in banking
